Eggs
I never really liked eggs but someone the other day that they just miss eggs! So I thought about writing a post about it.
Instead of using eggs, use tofu instead for scrambles. It’s WAY better for you, and tastes just as great. I like it better, if you ask for my opinion.
When it comes to baking, there are so many different ways to replace eggs. You have beans, tofu, applesauce, vinegar and soy milk, and egg replacers. I never used egg replacers so I couldn’t tell you how well it works. I like using tofu and vinegar & soy milk. It’s easy, you don’t have to go out of your of buying it and if you feel like impulsive baking you can.
Do you have any other ways to replace eggs? Like I said I never really liked eggs ever, so my advice today isn’t the greatest.
Tofu Lover,

Hungry anyone?
This post came from my sister, who is vegan/vegetarian throughout the week. She constantly is complaining how hungry she is. I guess everyone who just starts out feels the same way.
When I was first starting out vegetarian, I called it the ‘scary 2nd month’. I don’t know what it is but it seems like 2nd month of being vegetarian or vegan, who are hungry ALL THE TIME! It’s ridiculous. I remember having a whole bag of potato chips and still hungry.
If you are hungry here are some options for you that usually fill me up right away: nuts, bread, protein shake, bananas. Those help me through meals. And just give it time, it will get easier. Eventually your body will get use to your diet.
If you are hungry all the time, what do you do to cure it? Maybe I can give this advice to my sister.
Hungry at the moment,
Veggie Girl

Eating Out
I’ve briefly talked about this topic, but I think it’s time to really talk about it. It’s time to talk about eating out in a Omnivore restaurant, or eating with omnivores. Yes, it sometimes hard, but it can be interesting.
First, when I go to a omnivore restaurant, I can usually pick out all the vegetarian options. Then when I find a pasta dish or a salad. I ask ‘how it’s prepared’ and ‘what kind of dressing is it’. I know how to figure things out without their knowledge of my being vegan. It’s not that I’m ashamed of it, I’m ashamed of the comments and confusion (read my Bullying or Against Religion?). So I go without, and learn how to.
But if I go to the restaurant with my mom, she makes a HUGE deal about it. She will let the host know I’m a vegan, and tells the waitress like 5 times. Just in case she didn’t hear the first time. I’m find with that, and awesome that she supports me, it just gets awkward. Like the waitress asks if we want desserts, my moms like, ‘no, we have a vegan’ like I’m an animal.
But when you go to a place where you know you can’t eat anything with your friends, that’s the worst. I went to a Barbecue Burger place with the swim team, not one thing on the menu. So I ate the snacks I brought. It’s funny because my now boyfriend, who wasn’t back then, got a burger. When he found I was vegan, he stopped eating it, because he thought I thought it was gross. It was funny/cute.
Do you have any funny/tragic restaurant stories? If so, please share with me! I want to know. Because I’ve had a fair share of mine.
Lovin’ the food,

Bullying
So recently two people that read my blog, told me that they’ve been bullied for their eating habits. I am on the same boat with you. I have had to fight my own battles because I’m the only vegan at my school that I know.
One person said that people tried to put meat in her food, now that is unacceptable. No one deserves to be treated that way. I have never had that happened to me and I would probably go off on them. You deserve to do whatever makes you happy, no matter what it is. Don’t let those people break you.
The other story I heard having battles over facebook, and everyone agreeing with individual. I’ve had that happened to me. You just have remember that you are not doing this for them, you doing this for the plant and all living organisms. You remember that you won’t have heart disease and cancer from the meat people will be eating; you will have a healthier life.
Bullying is never okay, no matter what. Just because you are different, doesn’t mean you don’t deserve to be happy and live the life that you want to live. And remember the only reason why people bully is because they are insecure with themselves.
Be happy that you are vegan, and if you need ANYONE to talk to about ANYTHING, I’m here for you guys. I’m here to help you.
Always friendly,
Veggie Girl

Cheeseless Week: Day Four
I am so stuffed! I had so much cheeseless food today and it was all amazing and homemade. But the whole entire day I was craving for cheese goldfish, probably the first thing I’m going to eat when I’m over this. This thing is amazing, but sometimes just a little difficult. The only good thing food wise, my sister and I made a whole bunch of food.
We made pasta with cream of mushroom, it was amazing. I love cream of mushroom because mushrooms are probably the best vegetable creation out there. Then my sister baked a marble cake. Her cakes are so moist, they help with your thirst as well. I had so much food, I had a food baby. I didn’t find it possible on a diet such as this one, but I can. I’m still full as I’m writing this post.
I guess overall I’m happy that I can be a teenager and pig out with my friends and still have no cheese. I should remember this in the future if I ever come vegan, because it might help. That’s the number one thing that this diet showed me, veganism is possible. I can do it, and one day I will. I know I can.

No cheese for me,

Cheeseless Week: Day Three
Today was probably the easiest because I was always on my feet. I had to run a meet so I was always on my feet and didn’t have to think about cheese and eating. I had salad and almonds and everything. So I was well energized which was amazing because it is what I needed. All these veggies make me feel good, I’m just hungry all the time! I eat everything I can in sight! I’m constantly munching on pretzels or something! I didn’t think taking one thing out of my system would do this to me!
Another thing is my Mom. She is constantly forgetting about this challenge. She keeps thinks I can have what she made and I constantly have to remind her! Then she laughs at me. So that’s the only struggle is to remind my mother that I can’t have it, but it gives me willpower. So I guess that’s a positive? I don’t know. I just know, this is probably the smartest thing I’ve ever done, and I would never find it easy.
Ask me questions and comment, I love them! Also follow me on Twitter: @VeggieGirl29

Cheeseless Week: Day Two.
Today was a little easier, just for the fact that it was day two. But it wasn’t because my friends make fun of me because I am the only vegetarian. They were why on Earth someone would take cheese out of there diet. Then they put one of my biggest guilty pleasures in front of me: Cheedar Goldfish. Luckily, I didn’t think about caving in. It didn’t phase me at first how bad I wanted them. For breakfast I had a breakfast bar and for dinner leftover california rolls. Life was easy until dinner.
For dinner though, was a different story. I was at a friend’s house and her mom ordered a pizza. Another good thing happened, she told them ahead of time of my “Challenge” and they made me something else. She made me steamed veggies which were the best I have ever tasted. So I didn’t have to cave again. So overall and very positive.
But of course, I was craving all day. I wanted pizza bagels, cheese pasta, grilled cheese, everything. It is crazy how much cheese in my life daily. I am so glad that I accept this challenge to see the truth. It takes a lot of will power to take this stuff out at first. But the food I’m having is great, so this week could turn out okay.
Ask me questions and add comments. I love to hear what you all have to say.

Cheeseless Week: Day One
So today was pretty easy, except when it came to dinner. I woke up this morning and had last night’s leftovers, which were veggie spring rolls. Then for lunch I had some waffles. But at dinner, my mom wanted to have cheese filled pasta. She wanted me to make it, says I make the best, but I told her I can’t have it. She got frustrated and made it herself.
I had carrots, corn, and cashews for dinner. I never been so full in my entire life! Corn and cashews are like the most tastiest combo I have had in awhile. I also believe this is easier than expected. I can totally do this. This challenge is very innovative and I’m glad someone made me do this. Let’s see if tomorrow is just as easy.
I also have more energy in one day, it feels like cheese weighed me down or something, but not with veggies. I could totally do veganism one day. I see it in my future.
Well I hope you like what I said, ask me questions and feel free to comment.
