Life of a Vegan

Bullying

So recently two people that read my blog, told me that they’ve been bullied for their eating habits. I am on the same boat with you. I have had to fight my own battles because I’m the only vegan at my school that I know.

One person said that people tried to put meat in her food, now that is unacceptable. No one deserves to be treated that way. I have never had that happened to me and I would probably go off on them. You deserve to do whatever makes you happy, no matter what it is. Don’t let those people break you.

The other story I heard having battles over facebook, and everyone agreeing with individual. I’ve had that happened to me. You just have remember that you are not doing this for them, you doing this for the plant and all living organisms. You remember that you won’t have heart disease and cancer from the meat people will be eating; you will have a healthier life.

Bullying is never okay, no matter what. Just because you are different, doesn’t mean you don’t deserve to be happy and live the life that you want to live. And remember the only reason why people bully is because they are insecure with themselves.

Be happy that you are vegan, and if you need ANYONE to talk to about ANYTHING, I’m here for you guys. I’m here to help you.

Always friendly,

Veggie Girl

Cult?

So last night, a kid told me that I was part of a cult. I asked him what he meant because I wasn’t. He told me that vegetarianism is cult because they tell you what to eat and everything. I thought to myself? Who’s they? I choose to do this for myself and something greater than myself.

I wish people could respect each other a little more, and try to understand the vegetarian lifestyle. Just because we have decided to do something greater than ourselves, doesn’t make us a cult, it makes us giving and caring people. So I don’t understand what their logic was. If we are in a cult for what we eat, then you are too. Society instilled in your brain to eat meat because that’s the way things should be. But society instilled in us that marriage should be only between a man and women, do you believe that too?

Vegetarianism isn’t a cult, it’s a way of life that I find enjoyable. And just because it’s a dietary choice not an allergy that I don’t eat meat is beside the point. People don’t eat gluten even though they aren’t allergic to gluten, are they cultish? So don’t go on and say we are cult, we are just people with a dietary choice.

School, A-holes, and their awfulness.

At school today, we discussed what we had for Thanksgiving. I was so excited because I had amazing Tofurkey and I wanted to express that love. So finally when it came to my turn I told the class what I had. Everyone looked at me with either disgust or sadness and lots of people said that they were sorry for me.

I just want to let you all know that you don’t have to be “sorry” for me, I am sure proud that I ate tofurkey. I feel sorry for eating a animal, that had a life and a family. I don’t diss your dietary choices, no need to diss mine. There is no reason for it.

Sorry for my complete rant on A-holes, but it happened and it was fuel to my creative fire. I hope you agree, and if you don’t message or comment why.

REMINDER: I have a Twitter so follow, and ask me questions and talk to me, I don’t bite! I promise! I’m vegetarian!

To all the Veggies out there….

To all you guys that feel like, why am I doing this? No one understands me, or this isn’t worth it anymore. I just want to let you know, it is. You are apart of something bigger than yourself, and not that many people can say that. You choose to put animals in front of yourself and understand equal rights more than anyone else. I commend you guys for going through Thanksgiving (I know, it was hard for me at first too!) and willing to challenge another week ahead. Good luck, I know people are going to terrorize you, and its going to be hard finding something to eat, but I know you can do it! I know I can, which is saying a lot.

Also, follow me on twitter: @veggiegirl29 - I’m a lot funnier on there!

Ask me questions too, because it helps me figure out what else I should post and talk about! You will be the fuel to my fire!

See you guys tomorrow, with hopefully a funny story to type or an amazing recipe for you guys to cook.

From one veggie to another,
