Life of a Vegan

A blog about veggies and what we go through, because we deserve it! Aha. Also follow me on Twitter I'm cool and spastic on there! @veggiegirl29

Ask me anything! I'm willing to answer.

Athletes

Most people believe that they can’t be a vegetarian and an athlete at the same. But I prove all of them wrong. I am a swimmer, very high in cardio, which is a lot of fun. I have been swimming for two years now, competitively, but have been my whole life. I have never passed out, or even felt like I was going to. I’m not weak, I’m actually very strong. I go to the gym a lot as well. I do yoga and lift weights.

So everyone who thinks you can’t be a vegetarian and athlete at the same time, you are wrong. It is possible with the right diet, like any sport. It doesn’t matter how you get your protein, you still get it. Just because I happen to get mine plant base, which is better for you because it last longer, doesn’t mean anything. I can be just as strong as you.

Oh, and for those who don’t trust me, watch “Forks over Knives” there is a guy who is vegan and a MMA fighter, if I don’t, I’m pretty sure he will. He isn’t tiny either, he has the muscle to do what he is doing. So veggies can be what ever we want to be, we are just like you, just with a little different diet.

Like what I have to say? What to ask me something? Want to tell me I’m wrong? Go ahead, ask me/comment, it will make my day. I promise

Be strong veggies,

Veganism

A follower asked me if I ever would become vegan, and the answer is of course! I would be vegan in a heartbeat, if my parents would let. For the readers who don’t know whats the difference between vegan and vegetarian, vegans don’t eat meat and animal bi-products such as, milk, eggs, cheese and so forth.

My parents won’t allow me to be vegan because they believe it would be bad for my health. They believe that I would lack in iron and other nutrients that require me to live. So I did some research I found out that per calorie, spinach has more protein and iron than red meat and other animal products. My parents also believe that I will have a calcium deficient and will suffer osteoporosis and I just found out from watching “Forks or Knives” that whole milk causes osteoporosis by the fat being an acidic in our body so we calcium to attack it. But even after my research my parents still won’t let me.

But when I’m 18 and make my own decisions, I will become vegan. I think the only thing I could miss is cream cheese, dang that stuff is good!

Follow me on Twitter, I’m cooler on there! Also ask questions and comments, I need something to fuel my next post!

Anyways, from on veggie to another,
