Life of a Vegan

A blog about veggies and what we go through, because we deserve it! Aha. Also follow me on Twitter I'm cool and spastic on there! @veggiegirl29

Ask me anything! I'm willing to answer.

Athletes

Most people believe that they can’t be a vegetarian and an athlete at the same. But I prove all of them wrong. I am a swimmer, very high in cardio, which is a lot of fun. I have been swimming for two years now, competitively, but have been my whole life. I have never passed out, or even felt like I was going to. I’m not weak, I’m actually very strong. I go to the gym a lot as well. I do yoga and lift weights.

So everyone who thinks you can’t be a vegetarian and athlete at the same time, you are wrong. It is possible with the right diet, like any sport. It doesn’t matter how you get your protein, you still get it. Just because I happen to get mine plant base, which is better for you because it last longer, doesn’t mean anything. I can be just as strong as you.

Oh, and for those who don’t trust me, watch “Forks over Knives” there is a guy who is vegan and a MMA fighter, if I don’t, I’m pretty sure he will. He isn’t tiny either, he has the muscle to do what he is doing. So veggies can be what ever we want to be, we are just like you, just with a little different diet.

Like what I have to say? What to ask me something? Want to tell me I’m wrong? Go ahead, ask me/comment, it will make my day. I promise

Be strong veggies,

Support Groups!

A man reblogged my post about veganism today and said that you have people here willing to support you. Being vegetarian, I have my family and most of my friends and that’s all I need. Not so if I was vegan.

The support I have is amazing, they always make sure I have something to eat, finds out at banquets and parties what I can have and what I can’t. My biggest supporter is my sister, she tries everything for me, even when she doesn’t want to. So big kudos to her. So remember veggies, you wouldn’t be the veggie you are without the support you have. You think you could do this if your parents said they wouldn’t give you vegetarian food, so you would starve or go to a friends house and they don’t care that you are vegetarian and make bacon and all sorts. No, you would not be able to stand alone in that type of environment. You support is everything

That is even including the people who said you couldn’t do and proving them wrong. You go veggies, show them what you are made of.

You like what I have to say? Wanna know more? Ask me questions and comment on my posts.

Also follow me on Twitter: @VeggieGirl29 I will post more, the more followers I have!

And I know I said I wouldn’t do any posts but I’m taking a study break >.< I will also being taking a study break tomorrow, so get ready!

Cult?

So last night, a kid told me that I was part of a cult. I asked him what he meant because I wasn’t. He told me that vegetarianism is cult because they tell you what to eat and everything. I thought to myself? Who’s they? I choose to do this for myself and something greater than myself.

I wish people could respect each other a little more, and try to understand the vegetarian lifestyle. Just because we have decided to do something greater than ourselves, doesn’t make us a cult, it makes us giving and caring people. So I don’t understand what their logic was. If we are in a cult for what we eat, then you are too. Society instilled in your brain to eat meat because that’s the way things should be. But society instilled in us that marriage should be only between a man and women, do you believe that too?

Vegetarianism isn’t a cult, it’s a way of life that I find enjoyable. And just because it’s a dietary choice not an allergy that I don’t eat meat is beside the point. People don’t eat gluten even though they aren’t allergic to gluten, are they cultish? So don’t go on and say we are cult, we are just people with a dietary choice.

Like what I have to say? Comment or Ask me for more info. Also put in some input what I should write next, because most of the time I have no idea!

The Reason

I got a question and it fueled me fire, so in result I’m going to do one more final post for tonight. She asked; how long I’ve been vegetarian and I came to realized I never gave you veggies my history.

It will be 3 years on August 10 that I have had no meat in my life. I am the only vegetarian in my family which is sometimes difficult, so instead on taking the frustration out on them, I’ve decided to make a blog out of it and be called clever (aha). I started the blog because yesterday my friends wanted to go to McDonalds but they felt like couldn’t because I was there, so it got me thinking and now I’m VeggieGirl.

I became vegetarian because PETA made a video called meet your meat, which changed my life forever. This video was very horrific, I might add. Ever since then I’ve been watching more and more documentaries and came to full understanding that I should be the way I am and happy for it. So 3 years later, still pretty happy.

So there is a little background info, and you know more as we go along. But like I said comments and questions are fuel to my fire and how I write my material, so please feel free to ask and comment on your opinion, even if you are a meat eater.

Also follow me on Twitter: @VeggieGirl29, I’m funnier on there then here! I also post up sick lyrics too!

Well that’s all for tonight. Have a wonderful night and a beautiful tomorrow.

As always,

To all the Veggies out there….

To all you guys that feel like, why am I doing this? No one understands me, or this isn’t worth it anymore. I just want to let you know, it is. You are apart of something bigger than yourself, and not that many people can say that. You choose to put animals in front of yourself and understand equal rights more than anyone else. I commend you guys for going through Thanksgiving (I know, it was hard for me at first too!) and willing to challenge another week ahead. Good luck, I know people are going to terrorize you, and its going to be hard finding something to eat, but I know you can do it! I know I can, which is saying a lot.

Also, follow me on twitter: @veggiegirl29 - I’m a lot funnier on there!

Ask me questions too, because it helps me figure out what else I should post and talk about! You will be the fuel to my fire!

See you guys tomorrow, with hopefully a funny story to type or an amazing recipe for you guys to cook.

From one veggie to another,

VeggieGirl
